Noratek introduces new Blackberry App for Building Officials

Noratek has developed a series of software applications to support a variety of field settings. The apps allow workers to record field observations using any smartphone and, in saving their work, upload their findings to Noratek’s servers. “There’s nothing to buy. We secure and back up the data, take care of software updates/upgrades and, in exchange, the client pays a monthly fee," says James Sexton, Business Development Manager for Noratek. On the client-side, all that’s required is for a single file to be downloaded and installed on the client’s Blackberry or smartphone.
Noratek’s latest offering, Building Reporter™, follows the same formula. Developed with input from the Municipal Insurance Association (MIA) of British Columbia, Building Reporter™ fills a key risk management role by allowing building officials to thoroughly document a building inspection while still in the field. Ultimately, "it's about litigation" says Steve Findlay, Noratek's President. "Building Reporter™ can clearly demonstrate that a thorough site inspection was completed. That's a big deal should an inspection come under scrutiny."
